How did you hear about Persevere? What attracted you to the cause and this organization in particular?
I learned about it when I was serving at Principal of Success Academy. I am passionate and dedicated to providing robust high quality educational opportunities to justice impacted individuals. My goal is to return to serving the educational needs of justice impacted people but through the avenue of higher education.

In your opinion, what is the most important work that this organization does?
Building relationships, teaching lifelong skills and building the self-confidence and self-efficacy of the students you serve.

Do you have an anecdote about this cause/organization that really moved you?
Just simply knowing that my career coaching sessions made a real difference in each of the lives of these women. That each of them truly value and appreciate my time spent with them. Authentic appreciation and making a difference is worth its weight in gold. Just seeing the smiles on their faces and hearing them say “thank you, I really appreciate it Dr. J. thank you”.

What other hobbies and interests do you have?
I am very dedicated to health and wellness. I am a certified yoga teacher and love to practice yoga. I am also an avid runner and triathlete. I love being in the outdoors, in nature especially the high country of Flagstaff.

If you could vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Wow – there are so many places I wish to visit. Australia is certainly on my list. It has everything to offer. The animals and nature would be great to see. There is everything there from big city life to the outback. Plus their sense of humor is really great. Such wonderful fun attitudes the Aussies have!

Do you have any advice you would like to give to the developers as they start into their careers?
